MYDA VS EXPRESS: High-flying Red Eagles target third consecutive away win

Express FC have won their most recent two away games as they take on lowly placed new entrants MYDA at the King George IV Stadium in Tororo.

The Red Eagles are unbeaten in the eight games played and sit third on the table with 16 points having won four and drawn four.

Their hosts MYDA have contrasting statistics as they are one of the three teams that are yet to win a game this season. They are second from bottom with only one point from eight games and have lost seven games so far.

Express are fresh from registering a convincing 4-0 win over BUL FC thanks to goals from George Ssenkaaba, Murushid Jjuuko, Arthur Kiggundu and Ibrahim Kayiwa.

MYDA were on the receiving end and succumbed to a 5-0 defeat to KCCA at Lugogo in their last game on Saturday.

James Odoch the Express assistant coach says his team will not be carried away by their comprehensive victory in the last game,

” Our previous result was outstanding but that doesn’t mean we didn’t make any mistakes, we have used our last training to correct them and I believe we are ready. We know MYDA are going to come all out since they are playing at home but we are ready to get the maximum points.” Odoch said via the club’s website.

Apart from Ssenkaaba’s slight knock, Odoch and Bbosa have no injury concerns in their squad. Ssenkaaba who is also the club’s leading scorer with three goals, will undergo a final assessment before the game.

Eric Kambale, Godfrey Lwesibawa and Frank Kalanda are Bbosa’s other available options for inspiration.

MYDA have so far scored 10 goals and conceded 28 (more than any club in the league). Six of their 10 goals have been scored by Ibrahim Nsimbe who is expected to be a threat to the Express backline.

The Samadu Musafiri coached side will be without Ogik Norman who got injured against KCCA and midfielder Amos Etoju due to suspension following accumulation of yellow cards.

Mark Bassi returns while Paul Kibande replaces Ogik. Goalkeeper Isaac Osikol who is also the club captain also returns after missing the KCCA game.
