MYDA release five more as squad sharpening intensify

FUFA Big League side MYDA have wielded the axe on five more players in their bid to strengthen for the second round of the season.

The five are veteran defender Jonathan Mugabi, leftback Faisal Muledhu, former Express FC captain Stephen Luswata and former URA and BUL FC captain Jimmy Kulaba. The other is David Wewusa.

The club chose not to extend contracts of these and they have been asked to look else where.

They join Patrick Ochan, Mustafa Kasolo, Vincent Kayizzi, Kenneth Katende, Vincent Ziwa and Morries Lugya whose contracts were earlier on also not renewed.

MYDA recently failed to progress to the round of 32 of the Stanbic Uganda Cup after being eliminated by Buganda Regional League side Kajjansi United 3-0.

They also struggled in the first round of the Big league finishing bottom placed with only six points from ten games.

The team is currently under the tutelage of Erisa Madanda who is on interim basis following the departure of Charles Ayiekoh.

Madanda is assisted by Khalifan Ntulume.
