Steven Mukwala headed twice in URA FC’s 3-1 victory over Busoga United at Kakindu Stadium to go third.
Mukwala got the first for the Tax Collectors in the 29th minute by heading home Arafat Galiwango’s well delivered cross.
With five minutes to the second half, Mukwala scored his second for the day with another header from Ibrahim Dada’s cross.
Anwar Ntege pulled one back for the hosts in the 51st minute from the spot following a foul on Hassan Kintu in the penalty area.
Subsitute Ivan Sserubiri made it 3-1 with 12 minutes to full-time from a well taken free kick after youngster Elvis Ngonde had fouled Mukwala.
Sserubiri had replaced John Alou Kokas in the 59th minute.
Mukwala currently leads the scorer chat with 11 goals, one more than Vipers’ Congolese striker Ceaser Manzoki Lobi.
Busoga United remains in the relegation zone 14th on the table of 16 with only 11 points from 11 games.
Abbey Kikomeko’s charges will play their next game on 9th February at Kakindu Stadium against Gaddafi FC in the Jinja derby.
Victory takes URA FC to the third position with 28 points from 15 games.
The Tax Collectors next visit strugglers Tooro United at Buhinga Stadium in Fort Portal.
