admin

Steven Mukwala scored a brace as URA FC edged resistant UPDF FC 2-1 in a Uganda Premier League contest on Sunday at the Arena of Visions.

Alex Kitata netted the army side’s only goal of the contest as they suffered their 12 defeat of the season.

The tax collectors dominated proceedings in the first period and Mukwala gave them a deserved lead five minutes to the break.

Moments after the recess, the visitors levelled matters through Kitata who capitalised on a mix up in the box after custodian Nafian Alionzi had earlier saved Ezekiel Katende effort.

Cromwel Rwothomio had a decent chance to restore the hosts lead but his effort went inches over the bar.

In the 78th minute, Mukwala completed his brace and 14th of the campaign as the tax collectors restored their advantage.

His goal was enough to inspire Sam Ssimbwa’s charges to their 17th win of the term and are now a point below leaders Express FC.
