UCU lady canons taking on KCCA leopards in the first round.

Rangers fell prey to the Mukono based side, UCU Lady Canons in a thrashing 48-75 loss.
KIU Rangers who are 9th on the roster continued struggling as 2nd placed UCU exhibited supremacy all around the court especially after the 2nd quarter.
UCU led the first quarter with a gap of 3 points, 15-12 in a game that seemed balance then.
After the 1st quarter the game went out of Rangers’ hands as they trailed 19-41, 37-55 and 48-75 in the second, third and fourth quarter respectively. KIU’s Moureen Atulinde scored the highest number of points, 15 while her team mate Easther Marion scored 13. UCI’s Angella Lokwameri scored 12 while Vilma Achieng scored 11 points.
In the Men’s category, Betway Power continued to struggle in another loss to UCU Canons in a game they had in hands in the early stages.
Power looked fired up leading all 3 quarters 22-14, 34-25, 44-37 respectively but slipping up in the fourth quarter. Chuma Afidhili spearheaded UCU’s come back with a shooting slump of 15 points while Wundi Steven and Titus Lual scored 11 and 10 points in that order.
Arnold Lando’s men had their man Micheal Makiadi scoring 15 points as well as Paul Odong scoring 13 but failed to keep up the lead hence UCU condemning them to a a second consecutive loss leaving them 2nd on the roster below leaders, KIU Titans.
The result left UCU Canons 5th on the table with 2 games short of the 2 table leaders who have played 19 games each ,2 more compared to UCI’S 17. Canons also lies beneath 4th placed Warriors and a place a bove 6th placed Oilers who takes on Warriors in another breath taking match on Friday 20th of October at YMCA Wandegeya.
