Motherwell FC 2-3 Hibernian FC
Ugandan defender Bevis Mugabi scored one of the two goals for Motherwell FC who lost 3-2 to Hibernian as the Scottish Premiership kicked off.
Mugabi was on a return from a long lay off and was in action for the first time since 1st May 2021.
Motherwell took the lead through striker Kevin Van Veen in the 12th minute but Kyle Magennis equalized for Hibernian five minutes later.
Mugabi made it 2-1 in the 29th minute with a thumping header from Jake Carroll’s well delivered free kick.

Hibernian fought from a goal down to win it 3-2 through Christian Doidge and Martin Boyle’s penalty in the 57th and 70th minutes respectively.
Mugabi’s header was his third goal since joining Motherwell in the 2019/20 season. His first two goals came in victories against Ross County and Aberdeen FC last season.
He will be expected in action next Sunday when Motherwell visit St. Johnstone in their subsequent league game.
The Southampton Academy graduate has played 10 times for the Uganda Cranes and represented the country in the 2019 AFCON tournament in Egypt.
