Mbarara City star player Paul Mucurezi is positive despite being excluded in the 46-man squad for the national team duty.
Speaking to the media in a post match interview between Express FC and Mbarara city, Mucurezi admitted he was disappointed by the exclusion but remains forward-looking on better opportunities in the future.
” Yeah, It’s a disappointment to me but then as a player, you need to stay focused. You never know if you haven’t gone for this, you can come for a better.” Mucurezi said
” You never know God has planned better things for you. You might not go for this game when he has something better for you.” The offensive midfielder added.
Mucurezi’s exclusion in Cranes 46-man squad was a surprise to many across different platforms. Mbarara City fans were seen expressing their discontentment with banners during the club’s goalless draw at Wankulukuku.
” I have to say I deserved to be part (of the provisional squad) but if it’s the coach’s choice, you have to go with what he has decided to choose.”
Mucurezi responded when asked on whether he deserved a call in the provisional squad.
The former KCCA midfielder and Mutundwe Lions captain has been an integral part in Mbarara City’s terrific season that see them 3rd on the UPL table.
Mucurezi has scored 7 goals and registered 12 assists for the Ankole Lions.
Mucurezi also attributed Mbarara City’s brilliant season to the players and their enthusiastic coach.
” We have had good planning as players and mostly with the coach Charles Livingstone Mbabazi who has done a great job at Mbarara City. We are looking forward to getting a better performance and getting better results in the games to come.
Mbarara City are ranked third with 40 points garnered from 23 league games and will play against Ndejje University on Wednesday 13th March at Kakyeka stadium.
