Ugandan attacker Joseph Mpande Mbolimbo netted a late winner for his side Hantharwady United to earn a hard fought 2-1 away win over Yadanarbon football club in the MTP Myanmar National League at Mandalarthiri Stadium.

Following a goalless first half, Hantharwady United got the lead in the 57th minute through Htet Lin Lin.

Si Thu Aung levelled matters for the hosts Yadanarbon FC in the 78th minute.

With the game destined for a 1-1 draw, Mpande stepped up to the occasion to net the winner with only 5 minutes left on the clock.

The late winner was Mpande’s fourth of the campaign since making his debut on January 21st.

He had previously scored a winning goal against Sagaing FC in a 2-1 victory before bagging a brace against Myawady FC on February 10th.

Despite the win, Hantharwady United remains 5th on the 12-team log after playing 9 games but equal on points (15) with 4th placed Yadanarbon FC courtesy of an inferior goal difference.

Mpande and his teammates will return to action when they host 11th placed Gospel For Asia (GFA) football club at Grand Royal stadium in Bago on match day 10 of the Myanmar top tier slated for Saturday 7th April 2018.
