Ugandan forward Joseph Mpande Mbolimbo was on a high once again netting a hat trick to help his side City Yangon FC secure a 5-0 victory over Silver Stars FC.
Mpande who left Uganda in 2016 has had a great season scoring 19 goals in the Myanmar National League 2
Mpande scored as early as the 5th minute of the game and doubled at 2 minutes past the hour mark before completing a hat trick in the 90th minute. He returns in action early next week when City Yagon FC takes on 8th placed Pong Gan FC.
The former Vipers striker has been on an extraordinary scoring form contributing 51% of City Yangon’s goal scored so far and helping them stay on the top of Myanmar National League 2 with 8 points clear from second placed Myawady FC
The 2015 Azam Premier League winner is one of the key players in City Yangon FC and if all goes well, his impressive performances will lead his side to the Myanmar top flight in few months time.
Mpande’s form can not only help his club to bounce back to the National Premier League but also can gain him another national team call up since The Cranes is in search of goal scorers ever since Geoffrey Massa retired in March this year.
The cranes coach Milutin Sredojevic Micho said,
“Mpande is doing well in Myanmar, We tightly follow his progress and look to keep him on radar for possible engagement in future assignments.”
The uncertainty on who will be Uganda Cranes lead striker can give motivate Mpande to more superb performances in order to achieve Micho’s consideration since he last featured for the national team in 2015.
