Hantharwady United 2-1 Rakhine United
Hantharwady United bounced back to the winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Rakhine United courtesy of a Joseph Mpande brace.
The former Vipers skipper scored a goal in each half to take his tally in the Myanmar National League to 12 goals.
Mpande put Hantharwady United in the 31st minute when he beat his marker to launch a calm finish from 12 yards.
He doubled the lead at the hour mark after rounding the keeper to slot in the ball into an empty net.
Nigerian import Mathew Idok Sunday scored a consolation for Rakhine United 2 minutes to the full time whistle.
Mpande and Yagon United’s Sekou Sylla are now joint top scorers with 12 goals each.
The 2-1 win propels Hantharwady United to the 3rd place with 26 points garnered from 17 league games played.
Mpande and his teammates will take on Gospel For Asia FC (G.F.A FC) in their next fixture on Sunday 8th July 2018.
