FC Copenhagen 1-1 Vendsyssel FF

Moses “Mo” Opondo was on target for Vendsyssel FF in a hard fought 1-1 against FC Copenhagen at the National Arena in a Danish Superliga match played on Monday evening.

Opondo and teammates played for 48 minutes with a man less after Francisco Junior was sent off three minutes to the mandatory halftime break.

Vendsyssel FF were also unfortunately not to have taken the lead as early as the 15th minute when Sanden Fischer’s penalty kick hit the cross bar.

Opondo made up for Fischer’s miss by putting Vendsyssel in the lead with a cool finish in the 31st minute.

The strike was the third goal of the season for the Ugandan offensive midfielder.

FC Copenhagen found the leveller at the hour mark through Rasmus Falk’s brilliant solo strike.

Opondo was later withdrawn for Emmanuel Ogude with 15 minutes left on the clock.

Vendsyssel are 12th with 20 points from 23 games played while FC Copenhagen stay on top of the table with 58 points.

Next on card for Opondo and teammates will be a Danish Cup quarter final against Brondby on Thursday 28th February.
