• CA Youssoufia Berrechid 3-2 Wydad Casablanca

Joel Madondo played 51 minutes as Wydad Casablanca fell 3-2 to Youssoufia Berrechid in the Moroccan Botola Pro League on Saturday.

Madondo was handed his first start after making his debut in the 1-0 defeat to Difaå El Jadidi last week on Saturday.

Sebastien Desabre replaced the Uganda Cranes forward with Moroccan forward Haytham El Bahja while trailing 1-0.

Ivorian striker Junior Ggagbo Magbi came off the bench to score twice for the Desabre coached side who were unfortunately lost the game 3-2.

The defeat piles more pressure on Desabre who was appointed as Wydad’s head coach last month.

Under Desabre, the Moroccan champions have lost three games, won twice and drawn once.

Wydad Casablanca remain top of the Moroccan League table with 33 points but could possibly be dislodged by RS Berkane who play their 17th game on Sunday.

Desabre and his charges will shift focus to their next assignment which comes against Tunisia’s Etoile du Sahel in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter finals in Casablanca on Saturday 29th February.

It is also confirmed that Joel Madondo will be part of the Wydad Casablanca squad that will engage in the CAF Champions League campaign.
