Moroccan club unveils former Simba SC coach

Morocco Botola League side FAR Rabat have appointed Sven Vandenbroeck as their new head coach.

The appointment comes two days after the Belgian coach left his job as the Simba SC coach shortly after leading the Tanzanian champions to the group stages of the CAF Champions League.

Vandenbroeck has been unveiled on a two year contract to replace Abderrahim Talib.

His immediate task will be inspiring FAR Rabat back to rails since the Army side is currently 11th on the Moroccan league table with five points accumulated in five games played.

Vandenbroeck previously worked as an assistant to Hugo Broos as Cameroon won their fifth African title in 2017 before he was appointed by Zambia as their head coach in 2018.

In December 2019, he was appointed the head coach of Simba SC replacing his countryman Patrick Aussems.

He won the Tanzanian Vodacom Premier League with Simba on top of the Tanzania FA Cup and the community shield.

His new side FAR Rabat are 12 time champions of the Morocco Botola Pro League (joint second with current holders Raja Casablanca). Their most recent league triumph dates back in 2008.
