Uganda Cranes and former Vipers SC forward Farouk Miya has completed a move to Ukrainian topflight side FC Lviv on a short term employment contract.

Miya has been without a club since his departure from Turkish side Konyaspor in August last year.

The former Vipers SC starman came close to joining Turkish second tier club MKE Ankaragucu but the move fell through.

At Konyaspor he played 46 games and scored 8 goals and three assists.

Since he made a move to Europe, Miya’s best season was the 2019/20 when he netted 8 goals and 3 assists in 25 league games he featured for Konyaspor.

He has previously featured for FK Sebail in Azerbaijan, Belgian sides Standard Liege and Royal Excel. Miya also turned up for Croatian side HNK Gorcia.

Miya has represented Uganda Cranes at both the 2017 and 2019 continental showpieces in Gabon and Egypt respectively.

His new club was founded 16 years ago and host their games at the 34,915 capacity Arena Lviv Stadium. Bohdan Kopytko is the club President and Oleg Dulub is the head coach at the Lviv based side.

Last season, they finished in 8th position on the Ukrainian Premier league table. Lviv are currently 12th on the Ukrainian Premier league table with 17 points in 18 games they have played this campaign.
