Farouk Miya capped his debut season in Croatia with a goal and two assists as his HNK Gorica side picked a 3-2 win at Lokomotiva Zagreb on Sunday.
Miya was on target in 52nd minute of the game with his fifth goal of the season, restoring Gorica’s lead to 2-1.
Kristijan Lovric had put Gorica in an early lead in the 14th minute from a Miya quality pass before Luka Ivanesec levelled matters for the home side with a penalty kick moments into the second half.
Two minutes after Ivanesec’s penalty, Miya put the visiting team back upfront.
Miya set up Lovric again to make it 3-1 four minutes after the second goal whereas Nikola Buric pulled another back for the losing side.
The Uganda Cranes’ attacker has played a total of 30 games since his moving from Standard Liege of Belgium last summer.
The Croatian league officially climaxed with Miya and teammates finishing 5th on the 10-team log with 59 points garnered from 36 games.
The former Vipers offensive midfielder is expected to join the Cranes camp ahead of the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations.
