Vipers Sc returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Kirinya Jinja SS Fc at St.Mary’s Stadium Kitende courtesy of brace by Milton Karisa who also extended his season’s goal tally to 6.
The game started with the home side pressing for an early lead and in the 25th minute severe pressure paid off when Milton Karisa headed home a quality cross from Nicholas Wadada.
Both sides were forced into early changes in the first half through injuries, Taddeo Lwanga of Vipers was first to come off for Brian Nkuubi. Willy Makuro for visitors also paved way for Mark Bamukyaye.
In the second half Kirinya Jinja SSS came back a different side causing several attacks in the opening 15 minutes searching for the equaliser though lacking penetration.
With his side chasing the game charles Ayiekoh brought on Faizal Muledhu, Anthony Mayanja for Landry Makon and Isaac Ntege to boost his attack.
In the final 20 minutes of the game Milton Karisa doubled the hosts lead with a superb header capitalizing on a defensive mistake from Kirinya custodian Thomas Ikara.
The other changes made by Vipers were Baden Mujahid and Frank Tumwesigye coming on for Tony Odur and Duncan Sseninde respectively.
Yayo Lutimba and Nicholas Wadada for Vipers were booked by for dangerous play whereas Faizal Muwawu of Kirinya was also shown yellow for reckless play.
It was a game that Vipers Sc dominated and created more scoring opportunities with Moses Waiswa, Baden Mujahid and Frank Tumwesigye all guilty for missing several chances.
By the final whistle the Kitende outfit returned to winning ways courtesy of a Milton Karisa brace and cools pressure on Portuguese tactician Miguel Jorge Da Costa.
The win now takes Vipers Sc in fourth place on 20 points in 12 games five adrift of leaders Sc Villa whereas Kirinya Jinja SSS Fc remains in 7th position with 17 points in 13 games.
Vipers Sc will next play a host to URA Fc at St. Mary’s Stadium Kitende while the Jinja based side welcome Maroons at Bugembe Stadium.
