Mike Mutebi suffers first defeat in Rwanda

Etoile de L’est 2-0 AS Kigali

Mike Mutebi has suffered his first defeat as AS Kigali coach after falling 2-0 to league new comers Etoile de L’est in a league game played at Ngoma Stadium.

Jean Claude Harerimana scored a penalty in the 32nd minute before Samuel Chukwudi added the second in the last two minutes of the game.

AS Kigali were reduced to 10 men after forward Ramadhan Niyibizi was sent off in the 78th minute.

This was Mutebi’s second game as AS Kigali coach since his appointment on a two year contract alongside his deputy Jackson Mayanja last week.

His first game ended in a goalless against champions APR FC on Saturday 22nd.

AS Kigali are now fourth on the Rwanda Primus League table with 24 points from 15 games played.

Kiyovu SC lead the table temporarily with 29 points and a game in hand, APR come second with 28 points and three games in hand while Rayon Sports are third with 26 points
