Mike Mutebi calls for referees’ protection of Okello

Okello is challenged by Taddeo Lwanga for the ball

KCCA FC succumbed to a 3-2 defeat by Vipers SC today at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende, courtesy of a Milton Karisa double and Erisa Ssekisambu’s goal.

Head coach Mike Mutebi conceded defeat but he was so disappointed by the way Vipers’ Taddeo Lwanga frustrated young star Allan Okello with hard tackles whom he subsequently substituted for at half time for Patrick Kaddu.

“”It was a good game in my opinion, the best teams in the country faced off, and Vipers were better than us today”.

“Okello did not play, Taddeo was all over him, he kicked him through out and the referee did not protect him. I had to withdraw him. We couldn’t sacrifice him just for a result because we need him for bigger things in the future” .

“He is the only genuine number 10 that this country has but he is not accorded any protection from the referees”

Vipers SC have cleared their path to clinching their 3rd championship after beating their close challengers. They are now 4 points clear of KCCA and 3 above second placed SC Villa.
