Miiro Juma set to add more medals to Uganda’s collection at the Commonwealth Games 2018

Miiro Juma is is assured of coming home with a medal after successfully qualifying for the semis finals defeating Kenyan Sharif Hassan.

The 22 year old boxer scored 3:2 according to the judges in the Oxenford studios where the fight took place.

Miiro will now face India’s Amit who stopped Scotland’s Ahmed Aqeel to book his spot in the semifinals in a Light Flyweight bout

The fight is scheduled for Friday 13th – 04-2018 and the winner of this encounter will book his place in the finals while the loser will bag home a bronze.

Besides Miiro Juma, another Ugandan in Regan Ssimbwa qualified for the quarter final after defeating Nigeria’s Lukmon Lawal on 4-1.

The Light heavyweight joined yet another Ugandan, Musa Bwogi who qualified for the quarters on day 2 having defeated Mervin Clair.

Ssimbwa will be facing a 19 year old 7 times Welsh and 2 time British champion Sammy Lee while Bwogi takes on England’s Pat McCormack a win for both Ugandans will guarantee each a medal at least a bronze.
