Midfielder Tito Ssematimba returns to Buddu two weeks after being unveiled at Gomba

Stylish midfielder Titus Tito Ssematimba has controversially returned to Buddu two weeks after he was unveiled by Airtel Masaza Cup record holders Gomba.

Swift sports understands that, Ssematimba has already refunded the money he had received from Gomba a fortnight ago as sign on fee to serve Buddu for another year.

Ssematimba is a student at St. Lawrence University (SLAU) and was a key pillar for the University as they finished as runners up to eventual winners UCU in last year’s Pepsi University Football league.

He also plays for Black Stars FC in the Kampala Regional League.

Ssebbanja Yawe Farouk, Kibuule Obbo Naziiri, Odongo Gideon, Owen Kasule Ibrahim, Kavuma Marvin and Frank Ssebuwufu are the other players who have already renewed their contracts with the 2016 Airtel Masaza Cup champions.

The new recruits at Buddu are Satro Edward (two time Masaza Cup winner with Gomba and Ssingo in 2017 and 2018 respectively), Angello Kizza joined from Gomba, Warren Bbuule from Bugerere, Ronald Ssekiganda (last year’s tournament MVP and winning captain with Bulemeezi) and Ssingo duo of Ssemugera Amis Diego, Nsimbe Badru Jibuliru, Emmanuel Mwesigwa, Sharif Ssengendo.

The Airtel Masaza Cup championship is expected to kickoff immediately after the Coronavirus lockdown is eased in the country.
