Micho’s Orlando pirates condemn Walusimbi to defeat in his maiden Soweto derby

Godfrey Walusimbi and Kaizer Chiefs fell 2-1 to arch rivals Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby on Saturday evening.

The win pulled Milutin Sredojevic Micho’s men to 2nd place on the league table with 19 points below Bidvest Wits who are yet to play their 11th match while Kaizer Chiefs sit 3rd place with 14 points.

The Amakhosi drew first blood when Walusimbi’s cross was spilled into Khama Billiat’s way who made no mistake to find the net sheet in the 15th minute. Orlando Pirates’ Innocent Maella levelled matters 15 minutes later.

Vincent Pule put Pirates in the lead in the 32nd minute of the game and ultimately giving them the bragging rights of the derby.

Walusimbi was later cautioned in the dying minutes of the game.

Kaizer Chiefs, Polokwane City and Bloemfontein Celtic stand with equal 14 points at the moment.
