The evening of 7th, October, 2021 will be a memorable one to the Ugandan football stakeholders for having secured a sweet away win against Rwanda’s Amavubi Stars in the FIFA 2022 World Cup qualification campaign.
A win had eluded the Cranes in their first two games of the competition.
Uganda were held by Kenya in their opener and registered another draw against Mali in the other game.
Speaking to the media in the mandatory post match conference, Micho narrated the match ordeal on the road to winning Three points away from home and also vowed to fight on in the return leg.
“We kept the ball on ground and i deeply regrate the chances by our player Steven Mukwala on two occasions that were not converted.”
The Serbian national also expressed delight upon his team keeping a clean sheet, scoring atleast a goal and consequently wining the three points away.
“We are still very far from where we want to be but it is important that we keep a clean sheet, it is important that we broke the jinx and scored a goal, it is important that we took the three points away but it is still an unpredictable game.”
“I do not think of underrating the very good team of Rwanda coming to Kitende to play against us.”
Uganda have garnered 5 points from the three games so far played in this campaign.
They will host Rwanda in their next game at St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende, Wakiso District on Sunday 10th, October, 2021.
