Malawi 2-1 Zimbabwe

Orlando Pirates forward Gabadinho Mhango scored a goal in each to inspire Malawi to a 2-1 win over fellow COSAFA neighbors Zimbabwe in a Group B encounter played in Baffousam.

Both teams came into the game on the back of losing 1-0 to Senegal and Guinea.

Zimbabwe took the lead through Ishmael Wadi who headed home a well delivered cross from Onismor Bhasera in the 38th minute.

Mhango equalized for Malawi with a cool finish from a well laid cross Francis Madinga in the 43rd minute.

Mhango completed the comeback with a chip over the keeper after capitalizing on a howler by defender Teenage Hadebe who failed to clear the ball in the 58th minute.

Malawi now have three points, one behind leaders Senegal and Guinea while Zimbabwe are bottom of the table without a point.
