Mckinstry satisfied with Cranes result

Uganda’s head coach coach Jonathan Mckinstry has expressed his confidence in his team despite their failure to stamp authority over neighbors Rwanda in their group B opening fixture.

Uganda were held to an uninspiring 0-0 stalemate but the Northern Irishman believes his team were better on the evening

“We are satisfied with the result but we came out of this match with regrets. It is up to us to question ourselves and above all to be conquerors.”

Mckinstry told

Congratulate Rwanda , they were tough opponents. The first half was a little bit frustrating and maybe it was a because for a lot of players it was a first time at this level.”

Karim Watambala and Bright Anukani were guilty of losing possession several and in many cases they failed to have grip on the game.

” There was a little bit of nervousness but they grew into the game during the second period. We hope to build on that coming into our second game against another good side Togo.”

He added.

Uganda will face debutants Togo in their second match on Friday whereas Rwanda take on Morocco on the same evening
