Despite being injured, Charles Lukwago has been included in the Uganda Cranes provisional squad for the forthcoming CHAN tournament.

Cranes coach Jonathan McKinstry accounted for Lukwago’s inclusion and hopes the KCCA goalkeeper is deemed fit for the tournament slated for April in Cameroon.

” What everything about Lukwago’s injury tells us is that he isn’t ruled out. We are putting up a program to make sure he recovers so fast.”

” A specialised therapist will be jetting in from Europe soon and we shall do the final examination but if the moment of choosing the final squad comes when Lukwago isn’t ready, then we shall not take the risk.”

Lukwago sustained an arm injury in KCCA’s 1-1 draw with Express at Lugogo last weekend.

According to KCCA’s official website, Lukwago is meant to be out for six weeks.

In case, he doesn’t recover in time, Alionzi Nafian, Said Keni, Joel Mutakubwa and Edwin Buule Kiwanuka are in pole position to replace him.
