Mbarara City have reportedly released close to ten players ahead of preparations for the 2019-20 season.
Among these is hardtackling midfielder Ivan Mboowa who had joined the Mbarara club in the mid-season transfer window.
Other players include Rashid Muhammad, goalkeeper Ali Kimera, Umar Muhinzi, striker Brian Aheebwa, Clinton Kamugisha, Ronnie Kisekka, Bassey Methodius, Sam Kansiime and Salim Hood.
Defender Rashid Muhammad requested to leave and his reportedly on his way to either URA FC or the relegated Paidha Black Angels.
Goalkeeper Kimera who was indefinitely suspended by the club after his howlers in a 2-1 loss to SC Villa, already left the club.
Ronnie Kisekka is on his way out six months after signing a short term contract.
Rumors hovering around the Ankole Lions indicate that the club is targeting Vianey Sekajugo a free agent from Onduparaka and Hassan Kalega Gaata as some of the replacements for the departing batch.
Artistic midfielder Gaddafi Gadinho has already been signed by the club from Onduparaka on a two year contract.
Mbarara City are also chasing after Wasswa Bbosa's signature as an ideal replacement for head coach Livingstone Mbabazi who opted to set down from his role two days ago.
