We expect many players from the western region to participate, I believe we shall get the crème de la crème”. Kazimiri told swift sports.

He added, “It was a big honor for us to join the Azam Uganda Premier League and that is why we have to start preparations early.”

Mbarara City earned promotion to the top tier after winning a FUFA Big league playoff against Synergy FC 2-1 last month at Lugogo thanks to their former coach Richard Makumbi.

Mbarara City are still under Richard Makumbi
and they are expected to attract a large fan base from the western region emulating what Onduparaka did in the previous season. The West Nile region rallied behind Arua based Onduparaka helping the club finish 5th in its debut season and unbeaten at home.
