Mbarara City has captured the signature of forward Derrick Onyai on a three years contract deal.
Onyai is an U20 international who has been at the books of Mbale based club Kataka FC playing in the FUFA Big League.
Onyai believes he has the potential to help the club achieve it’s goals and he promises to play his role at the club,
“It is a great honor to join a club like Mbarara City with great ambitions. I believe I have the potential of helping the club achieve it’s goals and my primary target is scoring more goals.
The youngster comes to fill the void left by Karim Ndugwa who returned to his parent club Wakiso Giants from loan.
The Ankole Lions are currently third on the log of 16 with 27 points and will be their last game of the first round on Sunday 27th January against Vipers SC at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende
This is the second signing for the Ankole Lions in the January transfer window following the signing of Ronald Ocitti from Buganda regional club Nangabo green Valley.
