The Ankole Lions will be aiming to return winning ways when they entertain Onduparaka at the Kakyeka Stadium in Mbarara.

Mbarara City lost their recent game 3-1 to the high-flying Soltilo Bright Stars at Kavumba whereas Onduparaka beat SC Villa 1-0 in Arua thanks to Kabon Living’s lone goal.

Prior to the SC Villa match, Onduparaka had lost six league game on succession and the slim win over the record champions is expected to be a springboard to their resurgence.

The Joseph Mutyaba coached side is expected to rely on Kabon, Allan Busobozi, Jamal Malish, Joel Jangeyambe, Gabriel Matata and Gibson Adinho in search of a second straight win.

Mbarara City who are under the tutelage of former Onduparaka coach Charles Livingstone Mbabazi, clearly know that they have to win their home games if they are to save their top-flight status.

The Ankole Lions will be without John Adriko and Soulaymane Bamba due to injury while South Sudan international Makweth Wol is expected to feature in this one having managed to return from a long lay off. Left back Jasper Aheebwa is suspended.

The two sides have previously met on seven occasions with either side winning twice and the other three meetings ending in draws.

The first leg encounter ended 1-0 in favour of Onduparaka courtesy of Kabon’s 74th minute goal following an initial penalty save by goalkeeper Muhammad Ssekeba.
