Mbarara City, Onduparaka face off in quest to return to winning ways

Both teams have so far garnered 10 points from the nine games played.

Mbarara City host Onduparaka at Kakyeka in one of the four games scheduled for Saturday.

The Ankole Lions are 10th on the table while their opponents sit 11th with the same number of points (10 from nine games) only to be separated by goal difference.

The two sides come into the game with an aim of bouncing back to winning ways. Mbarara lost their last game 2-0 to Express at Wankulukuku.

Onduparaka have played out two 1-1 draws in the last two games against Express and Wakiso Giants in Arua.

Mbarara City welcome back Solomon Okwalinga from the injury he picked up in the victory over SC Villa. Okwalinga will be facing his former paymasters.

However, Raymond Onyai and left back Jasper Aheebwa remain sidelined by injuries.

Onduparaka will be without midfielder Allan Ganukura Busobozi who lost his mother two days back while Gabriel Matata, Mansoor Safi Agu, Dudu Ramathan, Ivan Okello and Rashid Okocha have all been ruled out of the encounter.

Head To Head

The last time both sides faced off was at this very ground last season and Mbarara City won 2-1 courtesy of Bashir Mutanda and Henry Kitegenyi.

The previous eight meetings between the two sides have seen Mbarara City register three victory while Onduparaka have won twice. The other three games have been draws.

Striker Muhammad Shaban, who will be searching for his third goal of the season, is expected to lead Onduparaka’s surge for goals.

Mbarara City coach Hussein Mbalangu has Henry Kitegenyi and Jude Semugabi as his reliable source for goals against the visiting Caterpillars.
