Newly promoted Uganda Premier League side, Mbarara City FC have made their first signings of the transfer window in a duo of Winger Swed Satugombo and right back Byekwaso Saidi.
Free agent Swed Satugombo signed a 3-year deal while 25 year old defender Byekwaso Saidi signed a 1 year contract joining Mbarara City FC from Mbarara FC.
Both signings were present in the club’s trial match against regional side Ntoda FC at the Kyamate ground in Ntungamo. Swed Satugombo also known as ‘Di Maria’ grabbed the headlines with his impressive dribbling skills despite the game ending in a 2-2. Defender Ainamani Junior and Samali Faluku scored for Mbarara City FC.
Swed Satugombo, who signed a 3 year contract at an undisclosed fee, came to Uganda in 2007 from Lubumbashi DR Congo and has been living in Nakivale refugee camp in Isingiro since then.
He went to Citizens High School from 2012 to 2014 featuring for the school team on a scholarship. The School discovered him during Isingiro district tournaments and has been facilitating him together with his Mother.
