Mbarara city in desperate need of points as limping Express visits


Sadiq Sempigi’s men are 5 points away from safety and they need to address their bad form that has seen them fail to win a single league match in the last 9 outings.

They hosts an Express FC side also seeking for redemption after being kicked out of the Uganda cup by arch rivals SC Villa.

The Red Eagles are also struggling for form after failing to win in the league after 6 times of trying. Their last victory came against Tooro United in Buhinga.

Whereas Mbarara city are battling their lives, Express FC seem to be playing for academic reasons having already collected enough points to keep them in the league but too little to fight for their title defense.


Out of the previous 9 meetings, Mbarara city have won 3 times, drawn three times and the rest have been Express FC wins.


Mbarara city welcomes back Jasper Aheebwa from injury but the bad news is that lead striker Jude Semugabi will miss out.

Bamba Soulaymane and Karim Ramathan are also ruled out.

Defender Murushid Juuko continues to be sidelined for Express, he has been joined by Abel Eturude and and Mahad Kakooza on the sidelines.

The big miss will be Eric Kambale but youngster Enock Sebaggala returns after serving his suspension in mid week
