Uganda Premier league side Mbarara city have agreed terms with the representatives of CAF A licenced coach Hussein Mbalangu to take charge as their next head coach.
Swift Sports understands that the 42 year old will tentatively takeover on interim basis but his contract will be upgraded to permanent stature when the respective documentation is finalised with the federation.
Last month, the Ankole Lions had appointed former UPDF, Express FC and SC Villa tactician Kefa Kisala but the deal fell through with Kisala making a U-turn on his decision citing personal reasons.
Mbalangu was also at the end of last month brutally sacked by newly promoted Arua Hill when they replaced him with former Mbarara city coach Charles Livingston Mbabazi.
Mbarara City also approached former Bright stars and Vipers coach Paul Kiwanuka but a compromise could not be reached and they zeroed on the much tested Mbalangu.
Mbalangu has previously coached at Kirinya Sufmgar works FC, Bugoba FC, The Saints F ( defunct) , Azam FC, SC Villa and Somali based side Mogadishu city FC.
The Ankole Lions last season finished 7th with 38 points and they have never been relegated since their elevation to the topflight league in 2017.
