Mbarara City extend Ssemwogerere’s search for first home win

Express FC and Express have played to a boring barren stalemate at Muteesa II stadium Wankulukuku on match day 23 of the Star Times Uganda premier league.

The result meant that George Ssemwogerere will have to wait a little longer to bring a smile on the faces of the FC hopefuls at their own prided home ground.

Since taking over from Kefa Kisala, he has managed to pick 2 points from a possible six at home. A 1-1 draw with Maroons FC and today’s barren stalemate with Mbarara city.

The Wankulukuku faithfuls will never watch another boring first 45 minutes like they have today, none of the sides managed to register a single shot at goal.

Express’ hope for goals was vested in the flamboyance of wingers Michael Birungi and Disan Galiwango but their inefficience on the evening meant that lone striker Tonny Odur was to be deprived of supply .

Its of no suprise that Odur was the first player to be substituted at half time. Brian Umony came on to replace him but he also failed to fire a single shot at goal.

Mbarara city were also a shadow of the previous attacking side with Paul Mucurezi being pocketed by Shafiq Kakeeto and co.

The match ended 0-0 with nothing to write home about save for the boos of disapproval that George Ssemwogerere received from his home fans .

The point earned keeps Express FC in 9th with 29 points and they will return to league action on March 26th against URA at Mandela national stadium .

Mbarara city mantain 3rs place on 40 points, they will next host Ndejje University at Kakyeka stadium on 13th March.
