Mbarara City duo signs contract extension

Mbarara City goalkeeper Mohammad Ssekeba and right back Stephen Othieno have signed three year contract extensions with the club.

The development was confirmed on Tuesday 9th June,

Ssekeba Mohammad and Othieno Steven have extended their contracts with the team for more 3 years.

The two long serving players join striker Jude Semugabi who also signed a contract extension on Sunday 7th June.

Both Othieno and Ssekeba were key in Mbarara City’s 2016-17 campaign that saw the Ankole Lions win promotion to the top-flight league.

Ssekeba played second fiddle behind Thomas Ikara who featured in 19 of the 25 games played in the concluded season.

Othieno was the club’s first choice right back and played part in 19 games scoring one goal in return.

Mbarara City, who are coached by Brian Ssenyondo, finished the 2019-20 season in 7th place with 36 points.
