Mbarara City have confirmed the departure of two players from their squad that competed last season.

These are, midfielder Stephen Kabuye and lanky defender Bashir Muweesi.

Their departure was announced in a statement released by the club CEO Norbert Semusu.

” Following the expiry of his contract, Kabuye Stephen will not renew his contract with the team and we have mutually agreed to terminate the contract of our player Bashir
Muweesi. We thank both players for their services for the time they were with us and
wish them the very best in future.”

Kabuye joined the Mbarara outfit in 2018 from Luweero United but found playing time hard to come his way in the two seasons he has spent at the club.

Bashir Muweesi is a former Kisugu United defender who was signed on a three year contract from Katwe United in June last year.

Muweesi has been limited to playing due to the stiff competition in the club’s defensive department.

Mbarara City have so far renewed contracts of six players that is, goalkeeper Muhammed Ssekeba, right back Stephen Othieno, Souleymane Bamba, Jude Semugabi and midfielders Pistis Balenge and Ssegujja Swalik Bebe.
