Former Wakiso Giants head coach Charles Livingstone Mbabazi is expected to make a shock return to Onduparaka FC, Swift Sports understands.
The CAF “B” licensed coach has been out of club football management since he was relieved of his duties at Wakiso Giants in February.
Mbabazi who also serves as an assistant coach for the Cranes, ditched Onduparaka for the Purple Sharks in November last year citing a breach in contract.
It is understood that the West Nile club has been in contact with Mbabazi in a bid to fill their vacant coaching job that has been temporarily occupied by Simeon Masaaba.
Mbabazi is a darling in West Nile having led Onduparaka in their impressive debut season before he ceremoniously left in March 2018.
In case the deal materialises, Mbabazi will be managing the Arua outfit for the third time.
It should also be remembered that Mbabazi left Onduparaka at the end of the first round last season with three players that is Ibrahim Faizul Anini, right back Atendere Geriga and skipper Gaddafi Wahab.
Mbabazi also has a UEFA coaching certificate and is known as a journeyman, having previously handled Bright Stars, Lweza, Masavu, the Somalia National Team, URA (assistant coach), Onduparaka (on two stints), Kyetume, Mbarara City and Wakiso Giants and serves as Uganda Cranes second assistant.
Onduparaka FC finished 8th placed on the Uganda Premier League table with 31 points in 25 games played.
