Earlier on Segujja failed to score from the penalty mark the 15th minute as his effort was saved by the BUL FC goalkeeper Abdul Kimera.

The penalty was awarded by the center referee Rajab Bakasambe after BUL FC defender Dudu Ramathan fouled Salim Huud in the box.

The encounter was the first of the four games Mbarara City defenders Hillary Mukundane and Stephen Othieno are supposed to miss after being suspended by FUFA for violent conduct.

Mbarara City who were promoted to the Uganda Premier League in the 2017/18 season, are now 12th on the table with 14 points while BUL FC are 9th with 20 points from 15 games.

It should be noted that the Ankole Lions started their top flight journey in 2017/18 season under Richard Makumbi and coincidentally drew 0-0 with BUL FC.
