Matovu is a KCCA FC soccer academy graduate who was promoted to the senior team in 2019.
He was sent on loan to Proline FC from where he won the Stanbic Uganda Cup after saving a decisive penalty in a shoot out against Bright Stars in a final at Masaka.
He had returned to KCCA last season but couldn’t dislodge Charles Lukwago from the club’s first choice slot.
Matovu leaves KCCA after the club signed former Vipers goalkeeper Derrick Ochan from Police FC.
The club also agreed to sell Lukwago to Ethiopian giants St. George on a two year deal.
The club has already announced the departure of midfielder Keziron Kizito, defender Filbert Obenchan and left back Moses Kalanzi.
