Vipers Sc host URA Fc tomorrow at St.Mary’s Kitende looking for back to back victories.
Vipers Sc have regressed from the 2014-15 season’s heady heights which saw then win the league title. This season the start was brilliant winning 4 in 4 of their opening fixture until they lost their rhythm.
Vipers Sc comes in this contest after a 2-0 win over Kirinya in the previous fixture, courtesy of a Milton Karisa brace while URA Fc suffered a 2-1 away defeat to Police at Namboole.
In the last 6 encounters between them, both sides have won once and drawn 4. The last 6 meetings have also yielded 18 goals, an average of 3 goals per match.
The Kitende outfit will be without skipper Nicholas Wadada due to card accumulation and his void is set to be filled by Asharaf Mandela.
Ismail Watenga, Deus Bukenya, Dan Birikwalira and Clovis Mousa Mbayi all will miss the contest through injuries while Richard Kasagga, Allan Munaba, Robert Mukongotya are out for the visitors.
Vipers are set to continue raiding on the impressive performances of Milton Karisa alongside Moses Waiswa’s influence in the creative engine room.
URA Fc pair of Bokota Labama and Henry Kisekka are expected to cause havoc to the Vipers back line.
URA FC tactician Ibrahim Kirya is adamant that his side have nothing to be worried of visiting Vipers, a team that hasn’t lost at home. He says,
“We are prepared for the game against Vipers, apart from the injured players others are available for selection and we will be aiming to get three points tomorrow.”
The hosts come in this fixture lying 4th with 20 points while URA Fc sit 8th with 16 points on the Azam Uganda premier league table.
Miguel Da Costa has an onerous task on his hands to guide Vipers to the league title this season whereas his opposite number Ibrahim Kirya has to find some consistency if is to remain at the helms of the tax collectors.
