MATCH PREVIEW: URA begin new season journey against boggy Maroons

A fresh faced URA FC will entertain Maroons FC in the opener of their new campaign at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

Sam Ssimbwa’s side finished third last season will be looking for a bright start in the new season as they search for their first league title since 2010/11 season.

The Prisons side are under the stewardship of former Express and SC Villa tactician Douglas Bamweyana will be looking for a promising start.

In the previous four league meetings between the two sides, Maroons have registered one win and the other three ending in stalemates.

The tax collectors made their transfer business early and are set to unleash the likes of Ivan Ntege, Ivan Sserubiri, Ibrahim Dada, Mikidad Ssenyonga, Hassan Kalega, Ashraf Mandela and David Bagoole. Brian Majwega is also likely to face his former side.

Abraham Tusubira, former Express FC captain Davis Mayanja, Patrick Bayiga, Hannington Ssebwalunyo, Fred Amaku and Steven Mukwala are set to make their debuts.

URA will also look up to inspirational skipper Shafik Kagimu and Saidi Kyeyune for maximum points whereas Maroons will have their hopes in Pius Obuya and Bronson Nsubuga.
