Resilient and stubborn Maroons will test KCCA FC’s strength as far as their bid to defend the title this season is concerned when they host the Lugogo based side at Luzira Prison’s grounds.

The Kasasiro boys are on the run to win the title with SC Villa and Vipers SC on their neck should they lose a point in the remaining few fixtures.

6 draws, 2 wins and 1 loss for Maroons FC from their previous 9 home games while KCCA FC has suffered 2 losses, 3 draws and registered 3 wins from their previous 8 away games.

The previous 7 encounters have seen KCCA win 5, one draw and Maroons winning once with the reverse fixture ending in a goalless draw at Lugogo at the beginning of this season but Manager Mike Mutebi believes things will change for the better this time.

He said;

“It is important we win tomorrow. Last time we drew against them but it hurt us. This time we must win to enlighten our chances of defending the league title”.

Maroons fought for a point from their previous fixture away in Arua with a goalless stalemate despite being down to 10 men.

KCCA FC won their previous encounter with a 2-0 over relegation threatened UPDF FC Lugogo courtesy of an Allan Okello brace. Prior to the game against UPDF, KCCA had drawn 1-1 against relegation threatened Mbarara City at Lugogo.

The Luzira based side lost their last home game in a 2 -1 loss to Kirinya Jinja SS. They last won at home in December last year in a 1-0 win against Jinja based BUL FC.

Maroons will miss the services of Felix Okot who was shown red in their previous game against Onduparaka.

Muzamir Mutyaba who went off injured in their previous game against Mbarara city and Saddam Juma will be sidelined for the visitors.

Maximum points for the Lugogo based side from this game will take them to 46 points and maintain the second position on the table while the Luzira based side will rise to 35 points and also maintain the 6th position on the 16 team logo in case they win this tie.
