MATCH PREVIEW: Police FC hosts high flying Kirinya Jinja S. S

Abudallah Mubiru’s Police FC play host to 3rd placed Kirinya Jinja in round 7 of the Azam Uganda premier league at Namboole Stadium.

The hosts come into this fixture from a 2-1 loss at the hands of Mbarara City while Kirinya Jinja SS defeated Proline 2-1 at Bugembe in their most recent fixture.

This will be the third ever meeting between the sides, the first ended in a 1-0 win victory for the cops while Kirinya Jinja SS edged the second one courtesy of a Bashir Mutanda penalty.

Kirinya Jinja SS welcome back goalkeeper Ikara Tom and right back Allan Drajua who have out injured and are expected to feature in Charles Ayiekoh’s starting eleven.

Police coach Abudallah Mubiru is confident his side will bounce back to their winning ways today.

He says,

“We have put the loss against Mbarara City behind us. We are now aiming for a recovery by winning again. We have rectified our mistakes and I know my players know how important it is to win so I expect 3 points today.”

However Ayiekoh the Kirinya coach is also confident of scooping the 3 points,

Ayiekoh says

“We are not third on the league table by accident, we are very changed team and we have the capacity of winning games from anywhere. So the three points will be our target today.”

Police has won 2 of their 3 fixtures at home this season, drawing the other while Kirinya Jinja SS has won once, drawn once and lost once in its last 3 away matches.

Kirinya Jinja SS will rely on striker Musa Esenu who scored a brace in the last match while Police will bank on Hood Kaweesa, Juma Balinnya and Yasin Mugume to win this duel.

Police lies 5th with 10 points and a win can propel them to the summit of the table while Kirinya Jinja SS is 3rd on 11 points 2 behind leaders Onduparaka FC
