Bottom placed side UPDF FC make a tough trip to the West Nile to take on 5th-placed Onduparaka at the Betway Greenlight stadium in round 13 of the Azam Uganda Premier league.

The hosts come into this fixture on the back of a 1-0 defeat against SC Villa in Masaka while their visitors UPDF FC lost their recent fixture 1-0 Kirinya Jinja SS at home in Bombo.

This will be the third meeting between the two sides with the previous two encounters going on Onduparaka’s way. The caterpillars won 1-0 at Bombo and 3-2 in Arua in a crunch game that was settled by a Kabon Living’s strike late in the stoppage time.

Onduparaka have won 3 of their last 5 home games while the army side is winless in their last 9 league games. They have only managed 2 draws and lost the other seven.

Long term absentee Rashid Toha is the only injured player in the Onduparaka camp. However, the club will also miss midfielder Gaddafi Wahab who is currently with the national U20 team – the Hippos.

Steven Bogere has only one injury concern. Forward Walter Rubankene remains sidelined with a muscle injury whereas first choice goalkeeper Harrison Sempagi makes a return into the first team after shaking off a limb injury.

UPDF remains the worst travellers in the league having lost all their 6 games away from home yet Onduparaka has a stretching unbeaten home record a fact which greatly destines the tie into the home side’s favour.

Gaddafi Gadinho, Vianey Sekajugo, Alfred Leku and Kabon Living are expected to be key for Onduparaka. Likewise Ezekiel Katende, Odong Mustafa and left back Isaa Mubiru for the visitors.

The caterpillars lie 5th with 19 points while UPDF sits at the base of the table with only 6 points collected from 12 outings.
