Kirinya Jinja SS Fc host Soana at Kyabazinga Stadium Bugembe today on match day 8 of Uganda’s topflight division.
The hosts come into this fixture after suffering a 1-0 defeat away to leaders Police at Namboole, whereas Soana played to a barren stalemate with Mbarara City at Kavumba
Last season, Soana won the same fixture at Kavumba Stadium 1-0 thanks to Emmanuel Kalyowa’s free kick in the final minutes of the game and the return leg ending in 1-1 stalemate at Njeru Technical center.
Kirinya Jinja SS Fc have no new injuries ahead of the contest with only long term absentees Bashir Mutanda and Sabir Nesta missing out.
Soana will miss the services of Misi Katende because of the knee injury.
Charles Ayiekoh’s side will bank on Ibrahim Kayiwa, Allan Drajua and Musa Esenu who will be facing his former side, while Emmanuel Kalyowa, Baker Buyala are expected to lift up David Katono Mutono’s struggling Soana.

Kirinya Jinja Ss Fc tactician is optimistic that his side will use the home advantage to get three points,
“We are to use the home advantage since all my players are in good conditions, i have named the same side that lost to Police in the previous fixture. I am facing a side that i once managed, they have experienced players and will fight for a result but for us our target is three points so that we stay in the top five.”
Kirinya Jinja SS Fc currently lies 6th on 11 points and a win will see them move in the top five whereas Soana is third from the bottom on the table with6 points.
