MATCH PREVIEW : Kirinya Jinja S.S FC host Maroons

Kirinya Jinja SSS Fc welcome Maroons at Kyabazinga Stadium Bugembe tomorrow in the Azam Uganda Premier league.

Kirinya suffered a 2-0 defeat away to Vipers in their previous game, thanks to a Milton Karisa brace whereas Maroons settled for a barren stalemate with Mbarara City at Prisons grounds in Luzira.

Kirinya Jinja S. S have played 3 non stop away games and head coach Charles Ayiekho has expressed a huge sigh of relief that his team are finally back home and they expect to get back to winning ways after having some ample time of rest. He says,

“We were in a very awkward position during the last 3 games. We played against Onduparaka, UPDF and Vipers for difficult games all away from home”.

“The visit against Vipers was the hardest because 3 of our players were ineligible to play. But thank God we have had enough rest and now playing at home”.

“Maroons are an in form team but we aren’t bad either, they have young players some of whom are students at Jinja S. S, so we expect a fairly balanced game which will entertain the spectators, We hope to get back to winning ways”.

The last two league meetings between both sides were during the 2014-15 season in Big league . With Maroons managing a double over Kirinya, winning 1-0 at Luzira and 2-1 in Jinja.

Maroons has drawn all their last four league encounters that is against Police, Soana, Vipers and Mbarara City. Asaph Mwebaze’s side last tasted victory at home to Proline, thanks to a Sydney Chika sole goal.

Meanwhile, Kirinya has won twice and lost three of their previous league five fixtures this season.

The hosts have no injury concerns heading in this fixture and will welcome back Willy Makuro who was forced off with a minor injury away to Vipers.

Maroons on the other sides will miss the services of Richard Ayiko, Felix Okot, Allan Anguyo and William Wadri all out through injuries.

Kirinya will bank on the returning of Ibrahim Kayiwa and club’s top scorer with 3 goals Musa Esenu, all were ineligible to face Vipers previously due to their respective loans from the Kitende outfit.

Pius Obuya, Ronald Orombi, Solomon Walusimbi and first choice goalie Ashadu Bugembe are expected to be vital for the Prisons side.

Kirinya comes in this fixture the best place side lying 7th with 17 points in 12 games while Maroons lies 9th with 16 points on the Azam Uganda premier league table.
