High scoring KCCA FC hosts Vipers SC in one of the big games of match day 12.

Vipers’ Miguel Da Costa is under pressure after managing only one win in their last 5 matches. KCCA are in the football of their lives after scoring 12 goals in their last 3 games.

The introduction of Shaban Muhammad has breathed new life to their striking line, the striker has scored 4 goals in his only 2 games including a hatrick, a feat no player has reached this season.

Vipers have dominated the last 7 meetings between these two giants with the 2014/15 champions winning on 3 occasions, KCCA winning once and the rest being stalemates. The most memorable being the 2-1 Victory at Lugogo when Vipers broke KCCA’s home unbeaten record last season.

KCCA tactian Mike Mutebi has tried to play down the magnitude of this encounter insisting that this is an other game like the rest, and that his team is should not be under any pressure facing Vipers. He said,

“I believe Vipers are one of the clubs with the best players in the league and we expect them to give us a good game”.

” We have already faced Police who are the most in form team in the league and they top the league standings, so we shall approach Vipers as we did against Police and another team in the league. “

According to the official website of Vipers Sports Club, midfielder Tadeo Lwanga is in contention for a starting slot having sat out the trip to Bombo and he was an unused substitute against Maroons.

First choice goal keeper Ismael Watenga Ismael doubtful and his place may be taken up by James Alitho the second choice in pecking order. Midfielder Tom Masiko may be given an opportunity to face the club where he spent more than 6 years for the first time.

KCCA are 3rd on the log with 19 points 1 adrift of leaders Police but with a game in hand. Whereas Vipers sit 5th on the table with 17 points having drawn 5 of their 10 games, only Maroons have drawn more games than Vipers.
