Harambee Stars shot stopper Patrick Matasi completed his move to Ethiopian giants St. George in a nick of time.
The Kenyan international put pen to paper on a 3 year contract following lengthy negotiations with the Horsemen hours to the closure of the transfer window for the foreign players.
Matasi replaces Ugandan custodian Robert Odongkara who left for Adama City on a two-year deal.
” Replacing Robert Odonkara is not a mean feat but I am ready for this task. I am here to win titles, both locally and internationally.”
Said part of Matasi’s farewell message via his facebook page.
Matasi has been at Tusker FC before clinching the number one slot in Harambee Stars set up.
It’s reportedly said Matasi caught the eye of the desperate St. Goerge team while playing for Kenya in their goalless draw against Ethiopia at the Bahir Dar stadium last week.
Ghanaian goalkeeper Mohammed Mutari had been considered ahead of Matasi but his move to St George failed to materialise because of a delay in attaining his ITC.
