SC Villa finished the season in second place behind champions KCCA but the club is on the verge of losing the entire starting team as Denis Kamanzi, Patrick Mboowa and Umaru Kasumba have confirmed their exit. Emmanuel Okwi, Henry Katongole, Vitalis Tabu, Abel Eturude, Godfrey Lwesibawa and Captain Taddeo Lwanga’s fate is up in thé air.

The most successful club in Ugandan football has faced a major challenge in keeping their squad consistently over the last years, the only survivor of the team that won the Uganda cup in 2015 Denis Kamanzi has been confirmed a URA FC player.
It is confirmed that Umaru Kasumba is on his way to Sofapaka, Henry Katongole and Abel Eturude are linked with moves to URA for a re-union with former Villa coach Ibrahim Kirya, Swift Sports sources understand that Captain Taddeo Lwanga might be in talks with champions KCCA.
However, Emmanuel Okwi is out of contract and is linked with a move to Tanzania giants Simba, the former Sonderjske FC player’s impressive form has helped him receive a national team call up. Okwi scored 12 league goals in the second round of the season.
One player Who preferred anonymity intimated to us that,
” Management of the club has been silent on matters regarding the renewal of my contract, and its a big disappointment that i am not alone in this”.
It’s also believed that Vitalis Tabu and Godfrey Lwesibawa have all asked to leave. Mike Ndera and Robert Achema’s contracts have also expired and no negotiations about renewal have been instituted.
Villa is interested in signing Express duo Musa Mukasa and Simon Sserunkuma to replace some of the players leaving.
