Record Masaza Cup champions Gomba have officially unveiled Turkish tactician Omer Selli as their new head coach at a function that was held on Friday March 22nd at Jevine Hotel.
The Turkish born replaces Ibrahim Kirya who was at the helms during last year’s Masaza cup competition.
Selli was appointed on a six month contract and expressed confidence in inspiring Gomba to this year’s Masaza Cup glory.
“I am delighted by the appointment and it’s a great honour for me to come and work with Gomba. I know this team is built on winning trophies and I promise the management and fans that we shall yield success this year.”

“We chose a foreign coach to bring something new to our team, we all know that Gomba is built on entertaining football. We believe Selli will bring many new things in our playing style.”
” We gave him a task of delivering Masaza cup glory this year and we shall help him get the needed players and in case he fails then we shall part ways.”
Selli will officially begin his work on Monday March 25th with football trials for players to use in this year’s Masaza cup at Wankululuku.
The Masaza cup tournament is slated to begin in June this year, Ssingo are the defending champions after edging Buddu on penalties last year.
